የኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋህዶ ቤተ-ክርስቲያን ትውፊትና ሃይማኖታዊ ባህል
ሃይማኖታዊ ባህል (ትውፊት) ማለት በጥንተ ቤተክርስቲያን የነበረ እና አሁንም ያለ፤ በፅሁፍ ያለ ወይም በቃል የተላለፈ ማለትም በአስተምሮ በአባቶች (ከአዳም ጀምሮ) ከትውልድ ትውልድ ሲወርድ ሲዋረድ የመጣ የእግዚያብሄር ቃል ወይም እምነተ- እግዚያብሄር ነው፨ ይህ ትውፊት የኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋህዶ በቅዱስ መፅሃፍ ያልተመዘገቡን መሰረተ እምነት፥ ትምህርትና ታሪክ የሚያሳየንና ነገር ግን የቀድሞ አባቶች ምንም ሳይዛባ በቃለ አስተምሮ ለዚህ ትውልድ ያወረሱን ትልቅ እውነታ ነው። ለአብነት ያህል ከታች ያሉትን ማየት ይቻላል።
- መስቀል መሳለም – Kissing the Cross
- ለቅዱስ መስቀል እና ለቅዱሳን ምስል መስገድ – To bow before icons & the Cross
- አንገተ ማህተብ በአንገት ማኖር – Wearing a thread round the neck
- በቤተክርስቲያን እጣን ማጠን – The burning of incense in churches
- ንዋየ ቅዱሳትን ማበርከትና መጠቀም – The utilization of ecclesiastical objects in services
- የቤተክርስቲያን ክፍሎች አሰራርና ክፍፍላቸውን የተለየ መሆን – The mode of church interior
- የአባቶች ካህናት ልዩ አልባሳት – Religious vestments በጥቂቱ ናቸው። ዝርዝር ትምህርታቸውን በትምህርት ክፍል ውስጥ የምናስተምረው ይሆናል።
Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church EOTC Tradition and Culture
Tradition (Tewfit) means that which has been told and which continues to be passed by the Church from ancient times either in writing or word of mouth from generation to generation. Tewfit (Tradition) records the doctrine, education and history that are not recorded in Scriptures but have been handed down from the early fathers by word of mouth.
St. Basil the Great also says, as written down in the Acts of Basil, that “the wearing of the cross, to cross oneself facing east and standing erect when praying, blessing the baptismal waters, marking the one being baptized, bowing in all four corners, anointing the one baptized with Myron, and making him say “I reject you” to Satan and his ilks are all acquired through tradition.’’ (The Works of Basil 27:26).
